Brad Richards
Capacity Development Specialist
brad.richards@weareaurelia.ca

Brad was born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, however he prides himself on frequently being asked “where are you from, originally?”
After completing a Bachelor of Social Work from Memorial University in 2009, Brad worked for over 10 years practicing as a social worker within the provincial child, youth and family services system, taking jobs in both Labrador and the Metro Region including clinical management and policy development.
While currently in the process of completing a Master’s degree at Dalhousie University, Brad’s philosophy is that life is the great teacher, and credits all the people and places that he has encountered, and relationships formed, as the most important source of growth and learning.
Brad’s passion lies in the development of relationships, facilitation of knowledge sharing, and experiential learning. He is also a self-professed geek with an affinity for science-fiction, table-top games, and pretty much anything to do with space exploration. That said, during time off Brad can most likely be found in his workshop either working on a woodworking project or learning a new home reno skill. Brad is an avid D.I.Y.er, whether related to home and vehicle repairs, building something instead of buying, or growing back-yard vegetables.
Brad lives with his wife, two sons and their dog, Darwin, in Pouch Cove - a rural community about 20 minutes north-east of St. John’s, NL.
